With so many AI tools out there, how do you choose the perfect one for your business? Should you switch between AI tools, or are they all going to give you the same experience? Let’s take a look at a few popular platforms and how they react to different marketing prompts.
We’ve asked ChatGPT, Gemini, Grammarly, and Copilots AI Chats to answer some questions to sift through the words, phrases, and answers that scream “This is AI.”
With a prompt that includes messages, Chat GPT will commonly give emojis and use hashtags. This is fairly generic, but if you feed it specific information usually it can offer some useful ideas. It is helpful to add details of the campaign to generate relevant content.

Grammarly AI tends to gravitate more towards a conversational style of writing. Since it can be built into your browser, it can be a great first line of defense. If you already have ideas but just need rewrites or suggestions, Grammarly may be the place to look. You can program specific tones and voices easily.
Copilot tends to be more thorough in its examples, but this can make it more difficult to decipher exactly what is usable from the responses. If you have a campaign ready but don’t know how to utilize it for socials, you can upload it into Copilot to generate ideas for you.
Google Gemini is a great choice if you are already an avid Google user. As with most search engines, it is helpful to give Gemini an outline to work with. State who you are, as in, “I am the Marketing Manager for a blank company.” This can help drive suggestions where you’d like them to go.
While each platform began with practically the same text, their advice was different. If you are utilizing AI to generate ideas in a creative block, don’t be married to one tool. It is perfectly okay to branch out and try a different platform or ask the engine for the prompt in a different way to get the results you are looking for. Overall, each platform focuses on diversifying yourself in your industry. One factor to consider when using AI is looking for the platform that is the easiest for you to digest. Even if they give similar information, one may look more appealing than another to you. It is worth it to give your AI of choice multiple prompts or suggestions. You are already saving time by using the software to generate ideas, so don’t shy away from making it perfect for you.
A formal intro is a good sign that it’s Chat GPT. They tend to use more complicated words and phrases that could be tone-deaf for customer-facing postings. If I was looking for a way to explain digital marketing in my office, this may suffice. However, if I want to post on social media for example, you could tailor it by asking for a bulleted list of ideas, or by saying “for a social media post.”
Grammarly AI has a slightly more humanized tone of voice but still includes many transition words/phrases. It tends to offer information that is digestible and easy to utilize on the go. You can load the prompts as you type a document to integrate ideas easily.
Copilot can obviously give listed suggestions that can be clear and easy. One feature that is slept on is that you can integrate your Word, Powerpoint, and Excel projects to generate content.
Gemini gives shorter responses and always cites sources. Utilizing the articles provided to get the information you seek can be helpful. This can make research an efficient and easier process.

It is important to utilize AI as a resource but to recognize that the software can’t necessarily replace a human touch. Text can sometimes be lengthy or come across as more formal than needed. When using AI, be sure to be specific in the desired outcome and ready to give the software further instructions, such as “speak in a more conversational tone.” You can also specify what you want your target audience to look like or who your target audience already is. AI can sometimes become repetitive or include sentences that don’t fully make sense. The software is not programmed to admit it doesn't know an answer, so make sure to fact-check everything before you use it. Unlike humans, AI doesn't prioritize creativity, so it is easy to spot its cadence if you use it frequently.
Remember to revise any AI statements to add your own voice and skills.
